SV Headlight - Front View

"BD Tech!'s R&D Dept spent practically 1,000,000 hours, practically the whole winter, getting an SV headlight to sit just right on the rathawk. We didn't like a standard type mounting, because it made the Hawk look ungainly and goofy like, well, an SV. The bracket adapter kit lowers the headlight about 2 inches, and pushes it forward a little bit, and gives the vertical adjuster something to mount to. Dropping the headlight made the gauges look like they are sitting way up in the wind, so we had to make another adapter kit to mount the gauges to the bottom of the triple (instead of the top), and drop them a couple more inches, which necessitates dropping the ignition switch too. It's always about a coupla inches, innit?"

"Anyway, the result looks pretty ass kicking, a fully modern faceted headlight, dropped to make the bike look all hunkered down and mean, like what lleuB (try that backwards, those bastard lawyers won't catch me!) did a few years ago, lowering their headlights. The SV headlight is one of the very few ever mentioned by the mags as being 'good.'

Pictures, regrettably, are still in the - wait, no they aren't, they laying right here in front of me! When I get ahold of BDT's Computer Specialist - why I oughta...

But there are caveats. These pics makes the mounting look misleading: with the tube handlebar experiment/arrangement, the fork tubes are dropped for clearance, rather than raised for optimized handling. My normal fork tube position is with the forks raised an inch, so the gap between the wheel/tire and headlight is 3.5 inches less than this pic shows. I'll retake these pics, tomorrow, minus the snow, as I've got the front end down where it belongs with some F2 clipons. It looks seriously bad as hell, that is with everything dropped down."

SV Headlight - Down View

"Somebody was just asking if the 919 headlight would fit on a hawk, and that question remains unanswered, as there were none available in American Honda's test fleet at the current time. As soon as one shows up, tho, we'll be there, and figure out what parts fit on the Hawk. As for costing, Honda definitely seems to have there shit together lately, the VFR800 parts are almost the same brand new as they are used, and these 919 parts seem reasonably cheap, by Honda but not Ducati standards, and less than some streetfighter headlight units would be. Pricing from Powersports Pro as not to hassle anybody hawk specific. The following prices are for the 919 headlight case, the lens and the bulb, you might need the triangle arm pieces too."

Thank you for your product request. Honda does not sell the headlight as a complete unit. The actual lens and bulb are 33100-MAZ-003 and it is $155.00. The case is 61301-MCC-000 and it is $50.00.
